About the Author: Dimiter M. Dimitrov, Professor of Educational Measurement and Statistics in the College of Education and Human Development at George Mason University, received a Bachelor in mathematics and a Ph.D. in mathematics education from the University of Sofia, Bulgaria (1984), and a Ph.D. in educational psychology (measurement and statistics) from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (1995). Among his recent positions in service to the profession are Editor of Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development ― the official journal of the Association for Assessment in Counseling and Education ― and President of the Mid-Western Educational Research Association (MWERA).
